According to the mayor of Istanbul, Vasip Sahin, there was only one shooter involved in what he describes as a terrorist attack. The event occurred at approximately 1am Turkish time with several hundred people contained at the night club in Istanbul within the Ortakoy area at the time of the shooting. The video below shows CCTV footage, claiming to be that of the gunman, who appeared to be wearing a Santa Claus costume. BREAKING: Shooting attack on the Reina bar, in #Istanbul #Turkey. News Agencies also reported that according to witnesses the individual involved was speaking in Arabic. This is only a few weeks after the shooting of the Russian ambassador in the capital and adds to growing fear among Turkish citizens after a string of similar attacks.
